Me Tarzan, Me Trying: The Awkward Start of Rebuilding

Me Tarzan, Me Searching: Longing for What Was Lost

The jungle no longer sounded the same. The birds still called, the vines still swayed, but without Jane’s laughter echoing through the trees, it all felt strangely hollow.

Tarzan began to feel the ache he had ignored for so long. At first, it was in Jane’s eyes — the dimmed sparkle, the quiet sadness. But now, he felt it in his own chest. Something precious had slipped through his fingers, and for the first time, he realized he wanted it back.

Longing stirred in him, pulling on the threads of what they once shared. He remembered the days when curiosity came easily, when her smile lit up his world, when connection didn’t feel so distant.

Avoidance had buried it. Defensiveness had walled it in. Distance and numbness had nearly smothered it. But longing was still there — alive, waiting, urging him to search again.

And maybe, just maybe, searching was the first step toward finding love again.

Tarzan wasn’t blind. He knew Jane had been hurting. Maybe he hadn’t seen it soon enough, but eventually, her silence and distance got through.

So he tried.
He hugged her more. He told her she looked nice. He even remembered, once or twice, to refill her coffee cup.

But it felt clumsy. Jane could sense it—the hesitation, the stiffness, the sense that he was “performing” what he thought she wanted instead of naturally offering it.

“Me Tarzan, Me Trying.” It was almost endearing, but also frustrating. She didn’t want him to just try—she wanted him to want to.

And yet… there was hope in the trying. Because effort, even imperfect effort, meant he cared. It meant he noticed enough to act.

Awkward hugs can grow into genuine ones. Forced compliments can become habits that rekindle attraction. Small, halting gestures can pave the way to intimacy.

Rebuilding doesn’t happen overnight. It happens one awkward, sincere step at a time.

Reflection / Takeaway:

The ache of longing isn’t a weakness — it’s an invitation. Let longing push you to pursue what was lost, because pursuit is the first step toward rediscovery.
Don’t wait until you’re perfect to start trying. Small, sincere actions—however clumsy—can still heal.

Call-to-Action:

🌿 Don’t ignore the ache of longing. Let it be the signpost that points you back to curiosity, pursuit, and love.

🌱 Begin today. Don’t wait until you “get it right.” Effort grows into habit, and habit grows into heart.

Jungle Laugh:
“Tarzan tried to romance Jane… but forgot flowers don’t grow well in monkey poop!” 🌸🐒😂
