When Trust Feels Betrayed
When Trust Feels Betrayed: A Mothers Grief
I trusted that giving my child to God would mean protection. She was taken in a way that feels cruel and personal. I have no answers. But I refuse to let neat theology silence my grief.
Because here’s the truth: feeling rejected by God is a real ache. It gnaws at the deepest places of faith. But being honest about it—naming it out loud instead of hiding it—is not weakness. It is holy.
Faith doesn’t have to mean pretending. It can mean daring to say: “I feel abandoned. I feel punished. I feel like a castaway.” That honesty is the beginning of something real.
If you are struggling with the same questions—if you’ve cried into your pillow asking why God let it happen—I want you to know you’re not alone. You don’t need to tie it up with answers. Just let your grief speak. That, too, is faith.
